Holiday school for FPCH learners proves to be beneficial
Review caught up with Flora Park Comprehensive High School learners during their extra classes to find out how they feel about dedicating part of their holiday to school.
POLOKWANE – It’s Easter school holidays and while some learners are putting their feet up and forgetting about school, learners at Flora Park Comprehensive High School are hard at work making sure they stay ahead of their school work.
The Polokwane Review spoke to the learners to find out how the camp, which is taking place from March 25 to April 5 is going, how they feel about dedicating part of their school holiday to school and whether they are positive about the impact the camp will have on them academically.
Mokgoshi Marishane: The camp is great. In Gr 12, there is no time to rest. You rest, you rust. I am confident that the camp is going to be beneficial because we are now working towards the mid-year exams. When we return to school, we will do revision.Happiness Maboa: The camp is going well so far. It is actually a relief to be at school becasue I’m not big on festivities so I dont think I’m missing out on anything. I would have done the same thing at home; study and practice the entire holiday.Sandile Nxumalo: It is going well thus far as we have done so much already. We started by revising last years difficult chapters and now we are doing next term’s work. The only adjustment was getting used to being around so many people the entire day, I’m not used to it.Mohau Raphathelo: Atending school during the holidays has been an adjustment but I don’t feel bad about it. I didn’t have plans and it has been more motivating studying with my peers. I am feeling positive that the extra lessons and holiday camp with have a great impact.Oratile Mokoena: The camp is going good but it’s a lot of work. It is helpful though because we are currently preparing for the mid year exams. I am understanding everything we are currently learning.Lehlogonolo Mokgehle: Its not bad, I am not complaining. I feel good knowing that the being at school will have a positive impact on my studies. This camp is filling in the parts that I didn’t understand when we did them in class. For more breaking news follow us on FacebookTwitter Instagram or join our WhatsApp group
