Refentse takes honour in leading Noorderland
Noordeland High School president Refentse Manamela says taking on the role at a school that honours academic excellence and finding balance has never been an issue for him.
POLOKWANE-For Refentse Manamela, it is an honour to be Noorderland High School’s president for 2023.
He told Review that it is a privilege to be entrusted with such a role, especially at a prestigious school such as Noorderland.
He recalls that being announced as president came quite unexpected, because of the great candidates that he was up against.
“The experience thus far has been amazing. I have a great team by my side and we are doing our best.”
Thus far, they have not had any major issues they have had to deal with, and his highlight so far has been the circuit leadership camp. “It was an experience for the books. I really enjoyed meeting and getting to know so many of the circuit leaders,” he said.
Being president of a school that honours academic excellence, and finding a balance has never been an issue for him.
“It really has helped to keep me motivated and working hard. In future, pursuing a career in actuarial sciences or accounting would be a dream come true. I have never really experienced academic pressure and this is because I put in the hours.”
He thanked the team he works with for the good work that they have done so far, and added that it has been nothing but an honour and a privilege.
“My message would be to continue and end with the same enthusiasm that we started with,” he said.
