Taxila’s cricket stars are a force to be reckoned with

Taxila Secondary School's cricket coach Saba Mridha said he's instilling a culture that whether they win or lose, the players stick together and push on.

POLOKWANE – Taxila Secondary School’s u/19 senior and u/15 junior teams won all the cricket league games they played last term.

The u/19 team played against Northern Academy at Nirvana Cricket Club on August 5, where they won the toss and batted first to put up a score of 212.

Their second game was against Hoërskool Pietersburg at Nirvana Cricket Club on August 19 where Taxila got the PHS team out for 127 and chased that down with only three wickets lost.

The third game was against hosts Louis Trichardt, where Taxila bowled them all out at 67. The best batsman against Louis Trichardt was Rayhaan Patel.

The u/15 team first played against hosts HTS Tom Naudé and then Louis Trichardt and won both games on September 26.

“We had three practices a week, and the boys worked really hard for these matches. We are instilling a culture that despite all our troubles and bad matches, whether we win or lose, we stick together and we push on. I am truly proud of them,” cricket coach Saba Mridha said. Taxila principal, Tlou Ramara thanked Mridha for his effort in coaching the boys.
