Watch: Science fun at Jabez Christian School
School principal Elana Erasmus explained that the learners had the opportunity to present their science ideas to the school in the hall.
POLOKWANE – To encourage learners to be more creative, think outside the box and make science relevant to everyday life, Jabez Christian Academy hosted a science project day on Friday.
Gr 1 to 12 learners came dressed as young scientists in various styles as they all participated in the project and had the opportunity to present their ideas to the school in the hall.
While explaining, learners also had to prepare their science projects practically in the process.

Among many projects, the learners prepared blown up balloons using cooldrink and sweets, while others used vinegar and bicarbonate soda for the same effect; water purifier containers to turn dirty water into clean drinking water; making a lava-lamp; popcorn dance in a jar; slime using force to place a straw inside a potato; burning a candle and placing it inside an upside down glass to allow the water to rise and more other fun projects were presented.
“Thank you to all the parents who played a huge role by assisting and making sure that the learners have all their ingredients and objects ready for the day. The learners all did their best and surprised us all during the presentations. Well done to all of you,” principal Elana Erasmus said.
