Kraaines learners celebrate teamwork at sports day

Kraaines learners participated in a variety of fun, child-friendly activities at their recent sports day.

POLOKWANE – Kraaines Preschool’s annual sports day brought together families and friends in a celebration of teamwork and spirit at the Laerskool Pietersburg (Suid-Skool) sports field on Saturday.

The day kicked off with a prayer led by Gr R learners Adrian Mametja and Leeto Sekole, accompanied by their teacher, Razia Davids.

Following the prayer, the young learners entertained their families with song and dance, filling the air with joy as parents cheered them on from the pavillion.

The event featured five colourful teams: the lion class represented the blue team; the pandas and squirrels played for the green team; the penguins sported purple; the hippos made up the orange team; and the butterflies were the red team.

The children participated in a variety of fun, child-friendly activities including track races, bean-bag tosses, egg pick-ups during the sack race, colour-coordinated ball challenges, hurdles, relays, mini-obstacle courses, stepping walker race, scooter races, shot put with soft balls, long jump, and many other exciting games.

After the games, the children enjoyed popsicles, while parents took a break to enjoy lunch and even joined in the fun, representing their children’s class colours in a light-hearted competition.

Principal Elize Fourie expressed gratitude to the parents and teachers for their support. “Thank you to all the teachers for your hard work in preparing for this day. Great teamwork!” she said, reflecting on the success of the event.
