I decided a while back that I am no longer going to excise my right to vote due to the escalating corruption in government by the very same people that we voted into power.

South Africans are going back to the polls next year and political parties are already playing dirty. In an effort to get our votes, I hope politicians will be honest during their campaigning. If they want our votes, they must stop making empty promises. Citizens know their cries fall on deaf ears and no assistance will come their way.

People want a political party that will admit its faults and promise to try harder, instead of pointing out others’ mistakes.

Yes politics is a dirty game, but surely people’s lives are worth more than that.
