THE indigo of the midnight sky amplifies the characteristics of blue in a profound, resonant way.
It has an infinite depth that reflects the timeless quality of indigo light.
Indigo works by turning blue energy inwards: while blue promotes some form of communication between people, indigo creates an internal communication in an individual that might manifest as profound thought processes, new insights, philosophy and intuition.
The flow of blue can be fast, but the flow of indigo can be almost instantaneous, often leading to the sensation of inspiration ‘coming out of the blue’, with no previous development or build-up of thoughts and ideas. Intuition and sudden clarity of awareness, startling realizations and innovative concepts occur in the ‘super cooled’ state of indigo. The depth of indigo may seem unfathomable and mysterious, but can yield useful perceptions, Indigo is related to clear seeing, feeling and hearing.
Indigo pigment was derived from azurite and lapis lazuli and was an expensive commodity. Woad is one of the few vegetable dyes to produce the same deep blue colour. Blueberries and sloes are some of the indigo foods that can be found growing wild.
The deep, directionless depths of indigo can sedate the conscious mind to a degree where more subtle, delicate perceptions can be registered.
Blue energy is the skill of language and eloquence personified in the talker. Indigo energy definitely belongs to the listener. Indigo energy never fails to be profound and significant. The internal quality of indigo and the enhanced sense of removal from normal, everyday communication can mean that those using a lot of indigo energy are able to step away from how the world is usually seen and come up with new and startling ways of thinking.
Put indigo in your life when there is:
• A need to focus on personal issues, beliefs and ideas.
• A need to develop sensitivity to the inner senses and intuition.
• A need to cool and quieten normal mental processes.
• A need to relieve physical, mental and emotional pain.
• Inability or difficulty in assimilating and understanding new concepts or philosophies
• A need for temporary relief and removal from everyday problems and difficult experiences in life.
• A need for space and a desire for a period of solitude.
Enjoy your indigo colour this week.
