Limpopo Blue Bulls to face Boland in semi-finals of rugby tournament
The Assupol Limpopo Blue Bulls u/21 side lost their encounter against the Eastern Province Kings by a narrow margin (37-33)

The Assupol Limpopo Blue Bulls u/21 side might have lost their encounter against the Eastern Province Kings by a narrow margin (37-33) on Saturday, but they still booked a spot in the Absa semi-final against Boland in Wellington this Saturday.
The visiting EP Kings never relinquished their lead in this match and led 26-17 at half time. However, they could not shrug off the tenacious Limpopo Blue Bulls side who kept up the pressure.
When referee Matt Kemp’s final whistle blew, EP Kings walked away with a narrow four-point victory.
It was vital for the Limpopo Blue Bulls that they managed to secure a bonus point for losing by a margin of less than seven points and that helped secure their spot in the semi-final.
Ill discipline ultimately cost the Limpopo side the match because they incurred two penalties in the second half and two yellow cards in the match. This hampered their chances of beating the EP Kings.
The try scores for Limpopo Blue Bulls were left wing Werner van Heese, outside centre Max Calitz, right wing PJ Kruger and reserves players Dwayne Morrison and Richard Gerntholtz. Fly half Marcel Steyn Scholtz converted four of the five tries.
The u/19 team also lost their match against the EP Kings. Both teams scored three tries in this match.
Place-kicker for the Limpopo Blue Bulls, scrum half Hendrik du Plessis, was accurate in only one of the three conversions.
This also hampered the team’s efforts to get ahead in the game.
The try scorers for the Limpopo Blue Bulls were lock Willie Lloyd, flanker Stephan Smith and fullback Wade Worthington.
Although the u/19 side of the Limpopo Blue Bulls are now out of contention for the honours in this competition, these junior players gave many opponents a run for their money.
