Impalas lose to KZN with one wicket

The team of Limpopo Impala Cricket (LIC), the Impalas hosted the side of KwaZulu-Natal Coastal team in a Cricket South Africa (CSA) 50-overs rural fixture match at the Polokwane Cricket Club's A-field on Saturday.

POLOKWANE – The team of Limpopo Impala Cricket (LIC), the Impalas hosted the side of KwaZulu-Natal Coastal team in a Cricket South Africa (CSA) 50-overs rural fixture match at the Polokwane Cricket Club’s A-field on Saturday.

The Impalas won the toss and elected to bat first. They set up a total of 165/10 in 40.2 overs, but the visitors gave a spirited fight to clinch a one wicket win over the Impalas. Batsmen of note for the Impalas were Issac Senetla with 33 runs of 66 balls and Khulani Baloyi, who came in near the end of the Impalas innings and made a quick 31 runs of 40 balls.

The pick of the Impalas bowlers was Bradley Pieterse, who claimed 3/38 in 8,3 overs. He was well supported by Hoërskool Pietersburg’s cricket talent, Landré Coetsee with 2/17 in 10 overs and by Kofi-Adu, who took 2/33 in 10 overs.

• Upcoming events for Limpopo Impala Cricket teams: LIC’s women’s T20 team, the Lilies are set to play against the side of Easterns in a 20-overs match at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday. The match is scheduled to start at 10:00.
