BLACK Leopards’ head coach, Kostadin Papic, said the players should be more focused if they wanted to collect maximum points against Witbank Spurs, whom they will face at the Puma Rugby Stadium today (Wednesday).
Bill Clinton, as Papic is affectionately known, spoke out after Leopards’ 1-1 draw with Roses United at Makhuvha Stadium on Saturday.
The stalemate with United was Lidoda Duvha’s second consecutive draw at their newly found home, Makhuvha Stadium.Leopards played to a 2-2 draw with rivals Baroka FC too recently.
Despite dominating the match against United, Leopards looked set to lose the match after the goalkeeper, Dino Visser, misjudged the bounce of the ball and allowed Mthokhozisi Msomi to score a goal three minutes into the match.
Lidoda Duvha levelled matters in the last minute of added time through a David Zulu penalty after Ivan Mahangwahaya was fouled into the box.
“It is highly frustrating to dominate the match and still do not collect maximum points. We played far better against United and we did all we could but goals still do not come.
“The players must just focus more and keep fighting,” said Papic.
Lidoda Duvha have now gone three matches without a win.
They started the year on a losing note when they suffered a 5-2 defeat at the hands of African Warriors. The last time the Venda based club won a league match, was a 2-1 victory over Jomo Cosmos in December.
Leopards are now sixth on the National First Division log, with 25 points off 17 matches, and they trail log leaders Milano United with eight points.
