The winner of the Review golf challenge that was played at the Polokwane Golf Club on Wednesday was Thys de Kock.

POLOKWANE – The winner of the Review golf challenge that was played at the Polokwane Golf Club on Wednesday was Thys de Kock.

The challenge was played in individual stableford format. De Kock won the challenge after accumulating 42 points. He was followed by Brian O’Riley with 40 points, while Liz Southon claimed the third position with 40 points on a count-out.

The Review golf challenge was played by 84 golfers including former Polokwane mayor, Freddy Greaver. There were no jackpot winners and the jackpot now stands at R660 with R520 of this amount being payable.

Kobus Marnevick took the prize for playing nearest to the pin at the fourth hole, while Lyn Marie Combrink claimed the prize for playing nearest to the pin at the 11th hole.

Northern Media Group sales manager, Pieter Meiring, said the challenge was well attended and well played. He further congratulated all the winners and thanked everyone who participated.

On Friday, golfers will compete in the Noordelikes Rugby Club corporate golf day. On Saturday, the Mikes Chicken monthly medal competition will be played, while the Polokwane Open 36-hole challenge will be played on Sunday.
