POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Bowls Club hosted provincial trials on Sunday, where 15 bowling clubs attended the trials.

Christo van der Merwe, Polokwane Bowls Club president, said they wanted to select eight provincial teams, which would represent the province in various national tournaments in March.

One team is made up of four players. “The final trials will take place on November 30 and I hope we will have great teams to fly the Limpopo flag up high. We are happy that bowling teams came out in numbers to support the trials,” he said.

Van der Merwe urged young people to take up bowling.

“I am glad teams from all over the province came to try their luck. The trials were well supported and we are looking forward to announce the teams that will fly our flag up high and represent the province well. I think it will be tough for the scouts to select the teams as all the players are committed,” he added.
