Dylan is a race whizz kid

Having started track racing last year, Dylan Bosch (14) has already been announced as the track racing regional tournament rookie class champion.

POLOKWANE – Having started track racing last year, Dylan Bosch (14) has already been announced as the track racing regional tournament rookie class champion.

Dylan says he loves fast cars and that is why he decided to join track racing.

The gr. 8 Tom Naudé Technical High School learner says he wants to study civil engineering after school.

“I enjoy the sport so much and my wish is to place a South African number on my car one day. I have to win the regional tournament four times and the nationals to get a South African number,” he says.

His car is equipped with a 1 660 modified power engine and is a rear wheel drive.

He says he started racing with a front wheel drive. “People regard track racing as a dangerous sport, but this is not true. Every sport needs certain skills and, as for driving, one needs to concentrate and focus to avoid unnecessary accidents,” he says.

Dylan’s friend, Marco Botha, says his friend is doing well as a driver.

“Dylan is a very good driver and I think he will go far in this sport. He drives like an older person, but he is only 14 years old. I see a bright future ahead of him and I wish him all the best,” says Marco.

He says he never misses a track race tournament when Dylan competes.

Dylan encourages young people to always do what they love.
