LEDA putts for local schools

POLOKWANE – The Limpopo Economic Development Agency (Leda) hosted a charity golf day at the Polokwane Golf Club last Thursday.
“We wanted to raise enough funds to renovate two schools in Lebowakgomo where we are based,” said Daphney Chuma, manager of Leda’s marketing department.
More than 120 golfers attended the day and pledged R50 000 during the auction and pledging ceremony that took place during the prize giving event after the golf day.
Leslie Masia, managing director of Leda thanked all the sponsors and golfers for making the day a huge success.
Steve Rudd won the nearest to the pin competition on the fourth hole and Ameer Bava won the longest drive competition on the 12th hole.
In the A-division, Abby Greaver won with 41 points, followed by Niel Rathman in second place with 40 points on a count in.
Phil Mashekane took third place in the A-division with 40 points on a count out.
In the B-division Sipho Talane won with 40 points on a count in, while Jomo Mashiane took first place in the C-division with 37 points.
In the women’s division, Lyn-Marie Combrink won the nearest to the pin competition on the 11th hole and the longest drive competition on the second hole.
Lynette Smith took first place with 38 points followed by Anna Mshigo in second place on 34 points and Combrink in third place with 33 points.
