MOKOPANE – A BRANCH of the Pony Club recently opened in Mogalakwena.
The Pony Club is an international youth organisation that helps to develop the sport of horseback riding.
The club encourages young riders to have fun while learning the ropes of horseback riding and the care of these animals.
It was first founded in the UK over 75 years ago and became the largest association of riders, exceeding 110 000 members.
The Mogalakwena Pony Club is one of the many new adventures hosted by the Shelanti Riding School.
It promotes sportsmanship, respect for animals and people, self-discipline and strength of character, to all their members.
On November 15, the Mogalakwena Pony Club held a fun filled event that included riding and horse care instructions. The knowledge obtained in this event would prepare riders when they participate in the next event on Saturday to obtain their first achievement badges.
Members of the Pony Club can earn achievement badges, take internationally recognised efficiency tests and take part in equestrian competitions.
The South African Pony Club is the foundation of countless riders in the country.
For less than R300, riders can become a member of the Mogalakwena Pony Club branch.
