Keith Badenhorst and Brian O'Reilly were announced as the winners of Sun Meropa's betterball stableford golf challenge that took place at the Polokwane Golf Club

POLOKWANE – Keith Badenhorst and Brian O’Reilly were announced as the winners of Sun Meropa’s betterball stableford golf challenge that took place at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday with 80 participants.

Badenhorst and O’Reilly claimed the first position after accumulating 47 points, followed by Tristen Schwimm and Eduan Kotze in second position with 45 points on a count-in while Ben Stears and Richardt Schulenburgh answered with 45 points on a count-out to claim the third spot.

Riaan Nel claimed the prize for playing nearest to the pin at number 16, David Hlabyago at the 11th hole, while Dirk Botha played nearest to the pin at the eighth hole.

Polokwane Golf Club manager, Charlie Smith, made a jackpot draw at holes 2, 6, 8 and 14 but there were no winners.

The jackpot now stands at R2 460 but only R1 968 is payable.

Golfers will flock to the Polokwane Golf Club on Wednesday to battle it out in the Review Golf Challenge.

On Saturday, golfers will compete in the Amarillo Spur betterball stableford.

Golfers can check the Limpopo Golf Union Toshiba Cup standinga on the club’s notice board.
