KLG league finally kicks off
THE much-awaited KLG Soccer League will finally kick-off on Saturday, March 14.

LIMPOPO – THE much-awaited KLG Soccer League will finally kick-off on Saturday, March 14.
This after members of the league committee delayed the kick-off, which was set for March 7 to have enough time to finalise issues such as the number of affiliated teams in each division, the registration of players and the preparation of players’ cards.
According to the league chairperson, Marupine Sape, there were still too many teams that had not yet returned their completed players’ registration forms to enable the processing of the cards.
“This forced the committee to delay the kick-off of the whole league programme until this Saturday when all documentation has been properly done. We did not want to start with problems where some teams would protest about some players not having players’ cards. We need to do things properly and professionally right from the start,” said Sape.
The administrator of the league, Trilly Mogoboya, said they had resolved to give all affiliated teams a chance to return their completed forms. This, he said, would give the committee a few days to prepare the fixtures and all the necessary aspects to ensure the smooth start to the season’s league programme.
The elite premier division of the league is expected to excite all football-loving followers in the area as it boasts top quality teams. This 18-member division counts the following teams in its fold: Manamela Naughty Boys, Leswika Classic, Golden Aces, Mogoboya Junior Chiefs, Ramalema Cosmos, Mapantsula, Lephepane Rovers, Khopho All Stars, Bubs, Real Madrid, MM Super Stars, Royal Celtic, Hotbeans, Long Valley, Rita All Stars, Napscom, Mokomotji Highlanders and Moime Liverpool.
It could not be established how many teams will compete in the KLG super division this season. There are, however, many new teams that have since joined KLG Sport this year. What normally makes the super division exciting is that over and above the battle for top 8 places, there is an element of ambition for promotion to the elite premier division. The following teams were promoted from this division last season: Rita All Stars, Mokomotji Highlanders, Napscom and Moime Liverpool.
Sape, expressed joy when he announced new teams that joined the KLG Sport.
He said: “we are truly humbled by the confidence that teams from various communities in this area continue to have on us. We are proud to welcome the likes of Pulaneng Juventus, Bokgaga Naughty Boys, Makhubedung, Nabane Hotspurs-Cazorro, Mogapeng, Cum & See, Ramalema Golden Birds and Tzaneen Killers”.
They will compete with teams such as Bancock, Carling, Moime Celtic, Monatic, Mahlogwe, Khujwana Bagdad, BokgagaJuventus, Mamogalefa, MP United and Bahlabine.
Meanwhile, representatives from KLG Sport met with delegates from the local royal house last Wednesday to thrash out details of two extremely big events in the KLG Sport calendar this season.
One of these events will, in addition to sport, include cultural activities and will be penned for the annual KLG Heritage Event in September.
According to Trill Mogoboya, the administrator of KLG Sport, what this means is that members of KLG Sport will have more competitions to compete in this season. The existing competitions include the KLG Top 8 competitions, Easter Tournament, KLG Youth Tournament and Pamo Cup.
