On Wednesday 56 golfers took part in this month's round of the Review Golf Challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club.

POLOKWANE – On Wednesday 56 golfers took part in this month’s round of the Review Golf Challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club.

The players had to endure brisk winds, but still enjoyed a great day of golfing.

The third annual Review Golf Challenge kicked off in January 28.

The challenge takes place every month until November, with the best eight scores throughout the year counting towards the overall standings. The top three golfers on the day as well as longest drive and nearest to the pin competition winners will receive cash prizes during each monthly prize giving.

The overall winner of the Review Golf Challenge and the runner-up will win the grand prizes of this yearlong tournament.

The winners of Wednesday’s challenge were Nelson Marais with 41 points. Phil Mashakane came second with 40 points and Keith Badenhorst won third place with 38 points. Pete Marnewick ended in fourth place with a total of 37 points.

Wednesday’s jackpot was drawn by Polokwane Golf Club member. Sam Kalla, and the winner was Marnewick who won R1 250.

Danie Bouwer Jr won the longest drive competition on the seventh hole and Riaan Nel played nearest to the pin at the 11th hole.
