BLACK Leopards' free-scoring striker Roggert "Hit and Run" Nyundu put tears in the eyes of Kaizer Chiefs' die-hard supporters when he scored the goal that sealed their 2-1 over Kaizer Chiefs in a Nedbank Cup match played at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.

BLACK Leopards’ free-scoring striker Roggert “Hit and Run” Nyundu put tears in the eyes of Kaizer Chiefs’ die-hard supporters when he scored the goal that sealed their 2-1 over Kaizer Chiefs in a Nedbank Cup match played at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.

Veteran midfielder, Morgan Shivambu, put Leopards in the lead, only to be cancelled out by Willard Katsande’s powerful header before Nyundu delivered a killer blow.

The win has revived Leopards’ hopes that they can emulate their 2011 success when they reached the finals of the Ke Yona cup.

Lidoda Duvha will now shift their focus to the league where they need every point on offer if they fancy their chances of gaining promotion to the Premier Soccer League.

They have a week to prepare for their National First Division (NFD) match against Royal Eagles, which will be played at the Thohoyandou Stadium on April 4.

Leopards are in position six on the NFD log with 34 points from 22 matches. Ten points separate them from log leaders, Golden Arrows, but there is a seven-point gap between them and the much sough after play-off spot.

The Thohoyandou-based outfit dropped their first points of the year when they played to a 1-1 draw against bottom of the log Maluti FET College at the Charles Mopeli Stadium last Saturday.
