Impala cricket fraternity ends season in style

Limpopo Impala Cricket's 2014/15 season has come to an end and cricket players, coaches, teams and administrators were honoured for their hard work throughout the season during an awards ceremony.

POLOKWANE – Limpopo Impala Cricket’s 2014/15 season has come to an end and cricket players, coaches, teams and administrators were honoured for their hard work throughout the season during an awards ceremony at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex executive lounge last Friday.

Ethy Mbhalati, who is from Limpopo but has been playing in Gauteng for the Titans cricket franchise for 13 years, was the guest speaker of the night.

Andrew Galloway, a former player and provincial captain who has played cricket in the province for the past 23 years, was honoured for his unwavering commitment and service to cricket as he bid farewell to the game. TK Bopape was named as the KFC cricket coordinator of the year, Richelle Lambert received the senior woman player of the year award and Henk Holtzhausen received the senior men’s player of the year award.

• Player of the season, u/11, Gerhard Leroux.

• Player of the season, u/12, Johan Adams.

• Boys’ u/13 player of the season, Ricardo Booysen.

• Girls’ u/13 player of the season, Katekani Mashimbyi.

• Girls’ u/16 player of the season, Tersia Loubser.

Provincial teams:

• Player of the season, u/13, Luan Both.

• Player of the season, u/15, Artwell Mokgoloboto.

• Player of the season, u/17, Brenden Bezuidenhout.

• Girls’ u/19 player of the season, Lisa Cohen.

• Boys’ u/19 player of the season, Jacobus Potgieter.

• Club Fair Play Award, Hornbills Cricket Club.

• Club Compliance Award, Hornbills Cricket Club.

• Scorer of the year, Leone Potgieter.

• Umpire of the year, Chris Groenewald.

• Pro 20 competition winners, Eagles Cricket Club.

• Promotional league winners, Al-Fatah Cricket Club.

• Premier league winners, Eagles Cricket Club.

• Limpopo Lilies woman player of the year, Richelle Lambert.

• Limpopo Impala cricketer of the year, Henk Holtzhausen.
