51 Zanis gymnasts shine at SAGF rhythmic competition

51 rhythmic gymnasts from Zanis Gymnastics competed in the South African Gymnastics Federation, (SAGF) Rhythmic Novice Competition at the Matsport Centre in Centurion on May 8 and 9.

POLOKWANE – 51 rhythmic gymnasts from Zanis Gymnastics competed in the South African Gymnastics Federation, (SAGF) Rhythmic Novice Competition at the Matsport Centre in Centurion on May 8 and 9.

The gymnasts competed against 26 clubs and 367 gymnasts and walked away with the most team trophies and the award for most top gymnasts of all clubs. They also returned with 35 gold medals and 16 silver medals.

Zanis also claimed nine gymnast awards:

Level 1:

• u/7: Lebsy Chuene.

• u/8: Kristi de Jager.

• u/9: Rebotile Letshedi.

• u/10: Malebo Kwena.

Level 2:

• u/8: Klara Pretorius.

• u/9 Clarissa Combrink.

• Over 11: Sarah Diederichs.

Level 3:

• u/8: Melchizedek Maponya.

• u/9: Rotondwa Maudu.

Zanis won the following team age group trophies:

Level 1:

• u/7: first place, u/9: first and second place and u/11: first place.

Level 2:

• u/9: first place and over 11: first place.

Level 3:

u/9 first and second place.

Zanis’ trampoline gymnasts did not disappoint when they did exceptionally well at the Ten Trampoline Competition also held in Pretoria on May 8 and 9.

Nine of Zanis gymnasts claimed first place in the mini-trampoline, another three claimed first place in the eruro trampoline, while two claimed second place also in the euro trampoline.
