Lim action cricket team claims 10th place

POLOKWANE – The Northern Country and Districts action cricket team competed in the inter-provincial action cricket tournament at Montague Arena in Cape Town from May 12 to 16.
The Northern Country and District team is made up of action cricket players from Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
The team finished in 10th place.
The team manager, Isobel Scholtz, said she was proud to manage a team of very talented action cricket players.
“The tournament was very exciting and the team played exceptionally well even though we could not claim the first spot.
“It was a very high standard tournament which is played by the best in action cricket,” said Scholtz.
She said this was the biggest tournament and the team had to compete in the super league before proceeding to the inter-provincial tournament.
She further said one of the team members, Morné Swart from Mpumalanga was invited to the South African training camp to try out for the team that will compete in the 2017 indoor cricket world cup.
Scholtz said she was happy for Swart and that the invitation meant a lot to the team.
“This is a big achievement for Swart and I am sure he will do his best and represent us well.
“We wish him the best of luck,” she said.
