Rufus gets Comrades sponsorship from VW
Volkswagen New has sponsored one of its personnel members, Rufus Photo for the 90th Comrades Marathon, which takes place this weekend.
POLOKWANE – Volkswagen New has sponsored one of its personnel members, Rufus Photo for the 90th Comrades Marathon, which takes place this weekend.
Volkswagen has been sponsoring Photo for three years and says they are honoured to be associated with one of the best runners in the province.
Carien de Beer, Volkswagen administration manager, said Photo was on a Volkswagen sponsorship contract and they assisted him with everything he needed to make it possible for him to compete in the Comrades.
“We are very proud of him and believe that he will finish in the top three this year and claim the first place next year. We wish him best of luck and we hope that he will come home with a medal,” she said.
Photo said he was happy to receive a sponsorship from Volkswagen and thanked the management for everything they did for him in the past three years.
“This will be my second up run and I look forward to it. I will be competing for the fourth time in the Comrades Marathon and I aim to finish in the top three even though I have an injury. I have been preparing for the race and I am positive that I will do well,” added Photo.
