Golfers tee off in ‘Sun’ style

Some 81 golfers competed in the Sun Meropa golf challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club last Saturday.

POLOKWANE – Some 81 golfers competed in the Sun Meropa golf challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club last Saturday.

Lenny Olley and Keith Badenhorst won the challenge with 46 points.

In second place were Dirk Visagie and Francious Goosen with 46 points on a count-out, while Len Olley and Anthony Olley came in third place with 44 points.

Chris Binneman was awarded for playing nearest to the pin at hole number four.

Jacky Papola played nearest to the pin at hole number eight, Jackes Jacobs played nearest to the pin at the 11th hole, while Afzul Bava played nearest to the pin at hole number 16.

Martin van Onselen made the jackpot draw at holes three, nine, 15 and 16, but there was no winner.

The jackpot now stands at R590, but only R470 is payable.
