O’Reilly claims Spec-Savers jackpot
Golfers took to the fairway to battle it out during the Spec-Savers Individual Stableford Golf Challenge played at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday.
POLOKWANE – Golfers took to the fairway to battle it out during the Spec-Savers Individual Stableford Golf Challenge played at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday.
Brian O’Reilly was announced as the winner after accumulating 42 points. He was followed by Farook Suliman in the second spot with 39 points on a count-in.
Carel de Jager claimed the third position after gathering 39 points on a count-out. Clive Silva placed fourth with 38 points on a count-in and Piet Bronkhorst secured the fifth position with 38 points on a count-out.
Raymond Pratt claimed the prize for playing nearest to the pin at hole four and Nabeel Bava was awarded for playing nearest to the pin at hole eight.
Former Polokwane Golf Club captain, Goitsemang Moseki, received a prize for playing nearest to the pin at hole 11 while Dudley Venner was awarded for playing nearest to the pin at the 16th hole.
Ronnie Peterson made the jackpot lucky draw at holes three, seven, 13 and 16. The jackpot draw was won by O’Reilly who received R1 200. The jackpot was standing at R1 500 of which only R1 200 was payable.
The golfers and management of the Polokwane Golf Club wished one of the golfers, Morné Myburgh, the best of luck with his future endeavours after he tied the knot on Saturday.
On Friday, golfers will get the chance to enjoy the Polokwane Golf Club pub lunch while they compete in the Ricoh Golf Day. On Saturday golfers will face off on the greens in the Mike’s Chicken Monthly Medal Golf Challenge.
