Hip-hop dancers compete in solo dance competition

POLOKWANE – Dancers from Frieda’s Dance Studio competed in an internal hip-hop solo dance competition held at Laerskool Pietersburg-Oos (Oosskool) recently.

The competition aimed at teaching dancers self-confidence and performing in front of large audiences. The internal competition also served as preparations prior to Frieda’s Dance Studio’s concert expected to take place later in the year.

“The internal competition is an annual event where our dancers get together to compete against one another,” said Frieda Lombaard, dance instructor and owner of Frieda’s Dance Studio.

She explained dancers did dance exams before they could compete in the internal dance competition and she was happy with the results. She added that her dancers are very committed and excel in what they do.

“My dancers stand a chance to compete against the best and I know they will not disappoint if given a chance. They can be as good as the professionals if they continue working hard and practice every day,” Lombaard stated confidently.
