POLOKWANE – Local runners recorded fast times during the Mazda Polokwane Nite Race at the Pietersburg Rugby Club on Friday, 2 October.
There was a 5 km and 10 km run for runners to compete in.
The 10 km winners of the day were:
Women’s open category:
1. Jeneva Raphahla within a time of 42:21 minutes.
2. Leani Venter within a time of 43:18 minutes.
3. Amri van Aarde within a time of 45:09 minutes.
Other winners of the night were:
• Maeshela Kolobo won the junior age 15 to 19 women’s category.
• Hannelie Viviers won the veteran age 40-49 women’s category.
• Amelia Haupt won the masters age 50-59 women’s category.
• Felicity Robberts won the grand masters age 60-69 women’s category.
• Hester Myburg who won the walker women’s category.
Men’s open category:
1. Peu Tlou within a time of 28:33 minutes.
2. Phuti Mohale within a time of 29:25 minutes.
3. Emanuel Ramothlodi within a time of 29:57 minutes.
Other winners of the night were:
• Ngobeni Ponthso won the junior age 15-19 men’s category.
• Eric Leowaba won the veteran age 40-49 men’s category.
• Israel Madibane won the masters age 50-59 men’s category.
• Jannie Sacco won the grand masters age 60-69 men’s category.
