What to look forward to this weekend

POLOKWANE – Not sure what to do this weekend? Worry not, as there are plenty of sport activities for the whole family to enjoy.

• On Friday, the BB Truck Noordelikes Rugby Club will host a golf day at the Polokwane Golf Club. This will be followed by the club’s 50th reunion accompanied by an “Oumanne vs. Jongmanne” rugby match at 15:00. There will also be a braai and a dance.

• Body Life gymnasium in Magazyn Street will host a Spinathon on Saturday from 07:00 until 13:00. Come and improve your fitness for a good cause.

• The Peter Mokaba Stadium will play host the Marius Lengton Athletics day on Saturday from 08:30.

• Hoërskool Pietersburg (PHS) and Hoërskool Ben Vorster will face off in the High School Cricket League on the PHS cricket fields from 11:00 on Saturday.

• The motor rally will be in town this weekend for the final event of the year, the Polokwane Motor Rally. The rally starts on Friday and ends on Saturday.

For those who do not want to spend time outdoors, there is plenty on the SuperSport channels to keep you entertained.

• The Absa Currie Cup Premier Division will continue into the semi-finals and will see the Xerox Golden Lions take on the Toyota Free State Cheetahs at 13:15.

• The International Rugby Board (IRB) Rugby World Cup will enter the quarter-finals when South Africa takes on Wales, be sure to catch the kick-off at 16:00.

• The Barclays Premier League Match day 9 will see the Tottenham Hotspurs take on Liverpool at 13:00, and then Everton will go head to head against Manchester United at 15:45. The final match will see Watford take on Arsenal at 18:00.

• The soccer then continues as the Multichoice Diski Challenge will see the Jomo Cosmos and Maritzburg United clash at 10:30. Kaizer Chiefs will take on the University of Pretoria at 12:50.

• The Super Diski Absa Premiership will also see more soccer action as Chippa United and SuperSport United go head to head at 17:30. Kaizer Chiefs will clash against MP Black Aces at 20:00.
