Golfing action: Lexus and Sun Meropa

Lexus Betterball Golf Challenge at hosted at the Polokwane Golf Club last Wednesday and Sun Meropa Betterball Stableford Golf Challenge last Saturday.

72 enter for Lexus Golf Day

Keith Badenhorst and Fred Hurter claimed first place at the Lexus Betterball Golf Challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club last Wednesday with a total of 72 golfers who competed throughout the day.

Badenhorst and Hurter finished with a total of 53 points. In second place were Chris Binneman and Jimmy Steele with a total of 49 points and in third place were Francois Goosen and Christo Stears with a total of 48 points.

The jackpot was drawn by Nic Notley with no winner as yet and the prize standing at a total of 1 680 units at a payable amount of 1 300 units.

The nearest to the pin at hole eight was Dirk Botha and at hole 16, Craig Hawken. The longest drive at hole two was Christo Stears and hole 12, Danie Bouwer Jr.

No winner for Sun Meropa jackpot

Piet du Toit and Piet Bronkhorst proved to be on top of their game when they won the Sun Meropa Betterball Stableford Golf Challenge with 48 points on a count in.

The golf challenge, which attracted 91 golfers, was played at the Polokwane Golf Club last Saturday.

Raymond Mushaike and Aaron Segwapa occupied the second position after scoring 48 points on a count-out. The duo was followed by Devaux van der Wath and Brandon MacDonald on the third spot with 47 points.

Hashad Mistry and Andre Roux were awarded for playing nearest to pin at hole eight and 16 respectively. Levi Barman made the lucky jackpot draw at hole number three, six, eleven and fourteen. Unfortunately no one could get their hands on the jackpot, which was paying 1 800 units.

Jakes Jacobs and Ameer Bava managed to claim the fourth position in the challenge after accumulating 46 points on a count-in, while Raoul van Zyl and Francois Goosen occupied the fifth spot with 46 points on a count-out. Nola and Weyden Pecuer answer with only 45 points and settled on position six.
