Golfers in top form in various challenges
Golfers showed mettle in various golf challenges last week
POLOKWANE – The Cycad Pick n Pay and Pietersburg Bande Individual Stableford Golf Challenge took place on Wednesday with 88 players joining in for a day of social golfing.
The jackpot was drawn with no winner yet and the jackpot standing at 2 930 units at a payable amount of 2 300 units.
The nearest to the pin on hole four was Attie Buitendag, on hole eight Johan van der Walt, on hole 11 Glenn Groenewald and on hole 16 Albert Botha.
The winners of the day were Dirk Visagie with a total of 45 points, Phil Mashakane with a total of 41 points and Anthony Olley with a total of 40 points on a count-in.
Silicon Smelters and Round Table 22 Charity Golf Day Challenge
Golfers competed in the 34th annual Silicon Smelters and Round Table 22 Charity Golf Day Challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday.
Team Bozel International took an early lead with 92 points. Bossie and Lizelle Boshoff, Etienne Pienaar and Dean Jooste comprised this winning team.
Willie, Cynthia and Duane Viljoen, and Liano Viviers made up team Viljoen Beverages and snagged the second place spot with 91 points.
Nelson Marais, Anton van Vuuren, Ernst Faver and Hannes le Roux of team Northlite claimed the third spot with 89 points.
Nellis Bester and Shane Hartman of team Silicon Smelters were announced as the Best Dressed Betterball Pair.
Hercules van der Merwe, Thys Spamers, Athoko Mtshali and Riaan Nel of team Graftech were pointed out as the Best Dressed Team.
