New year, new strategy for Pietersburg Rugby Club

Kargo Pietersburg Rugby Club started the 2016 season with many new and promising changes

POLOKWANE – The club not only boasts a new coach, Tolla Joubert, but new and talented players too. The management of the club is also full of new faces, with the appointment of Dirk van der Westhuizen (treasurer), Frank Cato, Hardus Wolhüter and Ronald Phaleng.

This season, the club’s mission is not to only play fast, entertaining rugby, but to make the experience fun for their players.

“The club has already begun training early in January, and the players are very positive as Pietersburg Rugby Club will also enter the 2016 season in the first division of the local Boet Fick League,” says the President of Pietersburg Rugby Club, Pierre Venter.

Venter adds that the club’s first match will be a curtain-raiser for the Vodacom Blue Bulls and the Emirates Lions at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex on 13 February.

The club also plans to set up an annual golf day on 1 April, which has already received a lot of interest and entries. It will take the form of a four-ball and teams interested can contact Dirk van der Westhuizen at 084 582 6241 or Pierre Venter at 078 225 1709 for any further enquiries.

Those still interested in joining the club are welcome to participate in the club’s weekly training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 17:30 for 18:00.
