Emirates Lions sharpen their claws for Super Rugby

The Emirates Lions have returned to the lion's den keen to commit to another unforgettable Super Rugby Season

POLOKWANE – The Lions will bumped heads with the Vodacom Blue Bulls during the most anticipated warm-up match at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex on Saturday.

The Lions have been scheduled for four warm-up matches before their first Super Rugby match against the Sunwolves from Japan.

They had their training camp from 21 to 22 January to polish their skills and tactics.

The Lions will be the first Super Rugby team to play in Japan. In preparation for this, they will take on the other new outfit in the competition, the Argentinian side, Jaguars, in a friendly on 19 February in Johannesburg.

The final squad warm up matches are set against the Leopards, Valke and Bulls.

Players still recovering from injuries over the past pre-season include Ross Cronje, Ruan Combrink, Martin Muller, Justin Ackerman, Harold Vorster and Derick Minnie.

Rehabilitation and recovery is on schedule for all players.
