Limpopo fencers dominate

POLOKWANE – Limpopo fencers recently gave their all during the Junior National Fencing Championship in Cape Town and performed exceptionally well.

Limpopo fencers won a total of seven medals with three of the medal winners being from Polokwane.

Firebird Fencing Club had reason to brag as three of their fencers returned home with four medals.

Firebird Fencing Club fencers:

• Cailyn Duncan – bronze in the foil cadets u/17 category, she also won bronze in the u/20 category.

• Mckayla Nel – bronze in the foil u/13 category.

• Michelle Butler – silver in the épée u/15 category.

Luan de Villiers from EreSabel Fencing Club in Mokopane is another Limpopo fencer who excelled at the championship. He won gold in the u/15 épée category.
