3 local wrestlers to fly SA flag in Egypt
Three local wrestlers, Hanru Botha, Roodie Roets and Terry van Rensburg will form part of the national wrestling team which will compete in the 2016 Africa Senior Championships to be held in Alexandria, Egypt from 4 to 6 March

POLOKWANE – The wrestlers, all from Ion Baciu Wrestling Club, were among wrestlers who were invited to attend the national wrestling trials in Kempton Park at the end of January.
Limpopo Wrestling Association president, Louis de Lange, says the wrestlers have been doing well and he believes they will represent the country well in Africa Senior Championships.
“Roets is still a junior wrestler, but he is already competing at senior level. This shows that he is good in what he does. I think the championships will be a bit tough for him, but I am sure he will definitely come home with a medal,” says De Lange.
He adds that he is confident that Botha and Van Rensburg will leave their mark in Egypt and return with rewards.
De Lange says the wrestlers have already started with preparations for the championships.
