Ernest du Plessis and Andre Kruger are through to the 2016 SpecSavers Bowls SA Pro 10 Pairs finals

POLOKWANE – This after they were crowned the provincial bowls champions during a tournament that was held at the Polokwane Bowls Club on Saturday and Sunday.

The 2016 SpecSavers Bowls SA Pro 10 Pairs finals will be held in Western Cape from 10 to 11 September.

The duo, which is from Modimolle, competed against 13 teams from all the five districts in the province. The Specsaver provincial bowls tournament was played in pairs format, but some of the rules were bend a bit.

Teams only played 10 ends instead of 21 ends, and each player was allowed to play two bowls instead of four.

Isabel Coetzer, Polokwane Bowls Club president, said bowls was a healthy activity which catered for all ages.

“It creates a fun environment for the social player, as well as an atmosphere for the competitive sports person,” she said.
