Boxers get the ‘all clear’ for international tourney
Sixteen boxers are currently undergoing medical testing in Polokwane prior to the international boxing tournament at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Indoor Sports Complex on Friday

POLOKWANE – The tests are conducted by Dr Mohammad Khan, who also conducted the pre-medical tests on Tuesday.
During the pre-medical tests, Dr Khan examined International Boxing Association (IBO) welterweight champion, Tsiko Mulovhedzi, whom he said was fit for the fight.
Mulovhedzi will defend his title against the Mexican challenger, Jesus Gurrola in a 12-round contest.
The South African flyweight boxer, Gideon Buthelezi also passed the pre-medical tests, and will take on Diego Luis Pichero from Namibia for the bantamweight world title.
Two-time world super featherweight champion, Malcom Klassen from Hammanskraal will fight against Leonilo Ruiz Miranda of Mexico in the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) junior lightweight international contest, while Bongani Silila, South African flyweight boxer will clash with Japhet Uutoni from Namibia for the vacant World Boxing Organisation (WBO) junior flyweight international title.
In what is regarded as a derby, two South African boxers, Prince Ndlovu and Sydney Maluleke from the Mopani district will face off for the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) featherweight international title.
In another derby, Norman Tshisikhawe and Tshifhiwa Munyai will contest for the Limpopo provincial junior welterweight title.
