Seshego beats Eagles by six wickets

Eagles Cricket Club faced Seshego Cricket Club in the Premier League's latest round of games at the Hoërskool Pietersburg (PHS) Oval on Sunday afternoon.

POLOKWANE – Eagles Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bat first as they set a total of 171 in 41 overs.

They faced Seshego Cricket Club in the Premier League’s latest round of games at the Hoërskool Pietersburg (PHS) Oval on Sunday afternoon. Eagles’ Pieter Haasbroek and Quinten Havenga contributed the most from the bat as they scored 34 and 39 runs not out respectively.

Havenga’s innings included four fours and one six. Seshego showed disciplined bowling with Chris Mohale the pick of the bowlers as he took four wickets for 45 runs in his 10 overs.

Ben Skade took three wickets for 29 runs and Hussain Patel scooped two wickets for 33 runs. Seshego chased down the total in 34,5 overs thanks to fierce batting by Isaac Senatla (38 off 67 balls), Mohale (32 off 22 balls) and Skade (39 off 49 balls).

Skade’s innings included four fours and two sixes. Eagles’ top bowler for the day, Corné Craig took three wickets for 45 runs but the club’s bowling efforts were not enough as they suffered a six-wicket loss.

Man of the match went to Mohale. Eagle’s next game is against Nkowankowa Cricket Club at the PHS Oval while Seshego will take on Aces Cricket Club at Tom Naudé High School.
