Galaxy trumps leopards on their home ground

TS Galaxy conquered the struggling Black Leopards 3-0 in the DStv Premiership at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.

LIMPOPO – The Leopards created opportunities in the opening exchanges, but Leopards’ Roderick Kabwe was blocked by shot-stopper Marlon Heugh in the 23rd minute, while King Ndlovu kept out Wayde Lekay’s strike five minutes later.

Leopards welcomed back Lehlohonolo Maselesa and Donald Makgetlwa in the line-up.

Galaxy was awarded a penalty 10 minutes before the half-time after Lindokuhle Mbatha brought down Sibusiso Khumalo’s strike inside the box. Mxolisi Macuphu went up to take the spot-kick, but his effort was saved by Ndlovu, which fired the visitors (Galaxy) ahead.

The TS Galaxy troops had a great start in the second half as Bathusi Aubaas doubled the lead 10 minutes after half-time with a close-range finish.

Macuphu got on the scoreboard in the last quarter of the second half as he sealed the three points for TS Galaxy with a thumping header from Mbatha’s cross.

Leopards played with only 10 men in the last four minutes after Sibongiseni Mthethwa was red-carded for a reckless challenge, but TS Galaxy were already home and dry, securing a win.
