Daredevil fun run to combat cancer
The 2023 edition of the Hollard Daredevil 5km fun run saw runners donning purple speedos to raise awareness about cancer affecting men.
POLOKWANE – Runners from various running clubs, and soccer players from local soccer clubs took part in the 2023 Hollard Daredevil 5km fun run at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday to create awareness about prostate and testicular cancer.

All registered runners received a Hollard Daredevil pack via courier which included a branded purple speedo, water bottle, purple laces, fundraising band and all the information they needed.

Moshakobo Joe Moja thanked participants for supporting the cause.
“We had 13 runners on the day, which is a huge number compared to last year. We are happy with the growth of the event. Which aims to create awareness around prostate and testicular cancer as it is a silent killer. I am 55 years old and I have prostate cancer. I detected it in March this year and the treatment is going well. My message to men is that they must constantly check their testicles, go for their screenings and know their overall health status.”

Chairperson of Black Leopards Football Club, Chief Thidiela whose players took part in the initiative said they were pleased to be represented at the event.

“We decided to take part in the initiative because we are a big brand and a community club, and we need to support such initiatives. We want to help those living with cancer related illnesses.”
