Noordelikes hosts women’s rugby tourney for clubs

The tournament attracted spectators from across the province, showcasing the growing popularity and competitiveness of women’s rugby in Limpopo.

POLOKWANE – The Limpopo women’s rugby tournament, held on at Noordelikes Rugby Club last Saturday, saw thrilling matches between teams from Moletjie, the University of Limpopo (UL), Phalaborwa, and Nkowankowa.

Moletjie Rugby Women’s Club emerged victorious with a decisive win, scoring 57 points against the Phalaborwa Predators’ 5 points.

Tebogo Semenya of the Moletjie team was named player of the match after scoring four tries and five conversions.

Coach Tshepho Moloto expressed gratitude for a donation of 12 rugby balls from Paint Pot Polokwane, which significantly improved their training sessions.

Prior to the donation, the team practised with only two balls. Moloto believes this donation played a crucial role in their success at the tournament.

In another match, Nkowankowa defeated the University of Limpopo with 37-20.
