Safa Vhembe teams ready for promotional playoffs

The champions of Safa Vhembe will represent the region with the winners of all other four districts and fight for promotion to Safa Limpopo ABC Motsepe.

LIMPOPO – The much-awaited Safa Vhembe HollywoodBet League promotional playoff matches will be played on June 15-16 at different venues. The winners of clashes will proceed to the final playoff matches on June 23.

The nine teams that have made the playoffs have been divided into three groups, with matches scheduled to be played at Tshifulanani, Saselemane, Tshikombani and Thohoyandou stadiums.

Teams who qualified are Basel FC, Musasenda Big Five,Thohoyandou Manchester, Univen FC, Makhitha Oscar Stars, Mashamba Soccer Academy and Maelula United Brothers.

The playoff matches might prove to be a tough hurdle.

United Brothers must be regarded as the underdogs as Thohoyandou Manchester’s performance has been superb throughout the season.

Asked about their level of readiness, Makhitha Oscar Stars spokesperson Sydney Luvhengo said that they were ready for whatever heat they might come across in the matches. “All our players are razor sharp. All is well with our preparations.”

The team manager of Maelula United Brothers, Pfuluwani Tshidzumba said his players were ready for any team. According to him, his team will be the champions.

Tshidzumba said the spirit is high in the camp and that they had put aside some attractive incentives for the players in case they managed to win the mini league matches. He said the team had been training hard.
