PEPPS’ Dafe Idolor vice-captain for Lim U/16 hockey

Dafe discovered his passion for hockey six years ago and has since excelled, earning this leadership role.

POLOKWANE – Dafe Idolor, a Gr 10 learner at PEPPS Polokwane College, has been named the vice-captain of the Limpopo u/16 hockey team.

Idolor began playing hockey six years ago in Gr 4, after his soccer coach introduced him to the sport. Over time, his passion for hockey grew, driving him to excel.

Being elected vice-captain feels surreal to Idolor.

“I expect to be under immense pressure, but that pressure will help enhance my performance,” he remarked.

He takes his new leadership role seriously, understanding the importance of leading by example and holding both himself and his teammates accountable.

Idolor is eager to represent the province and demonstrate the skills and teamwork they have developed.

“This is my second year at the north regional tournament, so I am also looking forward to seeing the improvement we’ve made as a team,” he said.

In addition to hockey, Idolor also participates in hurdles and soccer.

He credits his ability to excel in multiple sports and maintain his academic performance to effective time management.

“I try my best to manage my time wisely and minimise distractions by prioritising important activities,” he explained.
