Limpopo Volleyball Association hosts opening tournament

Limpopo Volleyball Association's first tournament saw 20 men's and 12 women's teams compete, marking a successful start to the new season.

POLOKWANE – Limpopo Volleyball Association (LVA) hosted their first opening volleyball tournament on January 25 at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex. The aim was to revive volleyball in the province following the election of the new provincial leadership. Districts that participated included Capricorn, Sekhukhune, Mopani, Vhembe and Waterberg.

The tournament saw 20 men’s, and 12 women’s teams representing all districts in Limpopo, and highlighted the return to action for players and teams, creating a vibrant atmosphere of competition, teamwork and sportsmanship.

“The tournament served as a platform to assess team readiness and provide a glimpse of the thrilling action to come in the new season, set to begin on February 22,” said Limpopo Volleyball Association president, Mahlodi Moila.

The winners of the tournament were rewarded with gold medals while position two and three obtained silver and bronze medals. “With such a successful opening tournament, congratulations to all the teams for participating and for your outstanding efforts,” remarked Moila.
