LIMPOPO – The much-anticipated league clash in the Safa Limpopo Sasol Ladies League is set to take place this Saturday, with Sinthumulekutama Ladies FC hosting Sisters FC at Ramantsha Grounds.
As reigning champions of the 2023/24 season, Sinthumulekutama Ladies are determined to secure promotion to the prestigious Hollywoodbets Super League.
In their opening fixture last week, the local side made a powerful statement by thrashing Real Mighty FC 6-0 at Xikukwana Stadium.
Team manager Caswell Mohale expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to continue this momentum, saying their ultimate goal is qualifying for the provincial playoffs and earning promotion.
“Football is about energy. You have to read the players’ energy – if they’re getting too cocky, you bring them down to earth; if they’re too anxious, you calm them down,” Mohale explained.
He said the team had remained disciplined and continued training even after concluding their last league fixture earlier in the month. The upcoming match will serve as an important measure of their readiness for the season ahead.
“We are focused on winning the league title and advancing to the promotional playoffs,” Mohale added.
In response to concerns that the pressure of promotion could distract the team from its league goals, Mohale was resolute. “Nothing will stop us from winning the title.” He also confirmed that the club had strengthened its squad by signing several experienced players to boost their chances.
Mohale urged local football supporters to rally behind the team during home fixtures, stressing the importance of community support in their campaign.
