LIMPOPO – More than 100 residents of Matidza village came together for the second annual Vhembe Charity Development Group fun walk, held recently between Matidza Royal and Mavhoyi TVET College.

The 3km walk attracted a diverse crowd, with elderly residents, young people, and youth groups all participating. The event aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle and raise awareness for community development.

Founder of the Vhembe Charity Development Group, Elias Tshivule, described the event as a huge success. “It exceeded our expectations. The turnout was incredible, and there was such energy and excitement throughout. People showed real team spirit, and many added a creative touch by dressing up for the occasion.”

The walk also served a greater purpose by raising awareness about the challenges faced by the Matidza community, particularly the lack of resources and opportunities for the youth. “Matidza is a peaceful village, but it needs more support and collaboration to create lasting change. Events like these help bring that message to life,” Tshivule added.

He extended his gratitude to the sponsors, volunteers and everyone who took part. “The fun walk was more than just a fundraiser. I was a celebration of unity and hope. We’re already looking forward to making next year’s event even bigger.”
