TTM to face Pirates in Nedbank Cup

TTM will face PSL leaders Orlando Pirates at home in the Nedbank Cup, a challenge the club says is a great opportunity.

LIMPOPO – Tshakhuma Tshamadzivhandila (TTM) will face Premier Soccer League leaders Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup round of 32, following the draw held at Nedbank offices in Sandton last Thursday evening.

TTM manager Azwihangwisi Phasha expressed excitement over the matchup, highlighting that the game will take place in front of their home crowd at Thohoyandou Stadium. The club has officially registered the venue as its home ground for all Nedbank Cup matches, although the PSL is yet to announce exact dates and kick-off times.

Phasha said the draw presents both a challenge and an opportunity for the lower-division side.

“Being matched against a top Premier League team gives us hope that we can advance to the last-16 stage. “Our players are ready to handle the pressure and are determined to give their best,” he said.

Asked whether the cup campaign could affect TTM’s promotion push to the higher division, Phasha remained confident.

“We are prepared to absorb any amount of heat. Playing against a bigger side only motivates us to perform at our highest level,” he added.
