Combined Nelspruit, Trichardtsdal and Tzaneen team wins NTK soccer title
Nelspruit Farmpack, Trichardtsdal and Tzaneen will now face off against winners from the VKB Free State and GWK Northern Cape regions.
POLOKWANE – The combined team of Nelspruit Farmpack, Trichardtsdal and Tzaneen emerged as NTK regional champions and secured their place at the VKB Group Final in Reitz, after a day of exciting teamwork and friendly competition between colleagues at the first VKB Group Soccer Championship on Saturday (July 25).
The tournament took place at the Noordelikes Rugby Field in Polokwane.
The games served as a qualifier to determine the team that will represent the region at the VKB Group Final later this year, where the first-ever VKB Soccer Champs title will be up for grabs.
Goosen Lombard, regional director for NTK, said eight teams took part in the championship, vying for the top spot of NTK regional champions.
“We have three regions: the NTK, the VKB in the Free State and GWK in the Northern Cape. There are soccer championships in each region and the winners will go through to the finals. Eventually, we’ll have the overall champion in the VKB Group,” he said.
He added that the championship was a great opportunity for team building, allowing colleagues to relax and have fun.
