After a very successful year, the Polokwane Chamber of Business aims to end the year with a gala dinner at The Ranch Resort bush camp on Thursday.

“We have invited a number of dignitaries, among them the premier, Stan Mathabatha, all the local mayors in the Capricorn district, the Capricorn district mayor and the members of the executive council for economic development, environment and tourism and for safety and security,” says Percy Mongalo, the president of the chamber.

The gala dinner comes after a successful year where the chamber had an increase in membership, held four well-attended business card evenings and seven breakfast sessions.

Mongalo says the chamber also led a delegation from Limpopo to attend the National Skills Conference in Boksburg and a delegation to discuss the Integrated Rapid Transport System with the Polokwane Municipality.

The chamber also participated in the Investment Summit which was hosted by the Capricorn District Municipality.

The chamber has played an important role in the formation of the Limpopo United Business Forum, which seeks to make the voice of business stronger as it will represent business as a united force.

This year, the gala dinner will also attract learners from schools in the city, Mashashane and Dendron areas in an attempt to expose learners and to motivate them to be attracted to the world of business.

The highlight of the evening will be the recognition of star performers in various categories such as woman entrepreneur, young entrepreneur, public service manager, local business and newsmaker of the year, Mongalo says.
