Anda-Lucia crowns a new queen

After a year as Mrs Polokwane, Anda-Lucia Jordaan crowned Nadia du Preez as the new Mrs Polokwane for 2014.

POLOKWANE – After a year as Mrs Polokwane, Anda-Lucia Jordaan crowned Nadia du Preez as the new Mrs Polokwane for 2014.

“This year taught me that, even though I am an ordinary person, with the help of my husband, family, friends and the community, I can change the lives of those in need,” said Anda-Lucia in her farewell speech.

The event was held on Saturday at St. Marco Hall and the theme of the evening was: Black and white with a cherry on top. The city’s new Miss Legs, Tiané Ströh, was also crowned at this event.

Finalists opened the evening with a short homage to Marilyn Monroe and a dance routine to introduce themselves to the audience.

Mia Louw, local singer, entertained guests while the participants prepared for the next round.

Nikita Oosthuizen was crowned first princess in the Mrs Polokwane pageant.

“Mrs Polokwane is not about a pretty face or knowing people who can sponsor prizes, food and clothing,” explained Anda-Lucia.

She said Mrs Polokwane was about helping people and finding yourself along the way.
