Who will be Miss Vhembe 2013?

TEN young women will compete for the Miss Vhembe 2013 crown at the Thohoyandou Town Hall

TEN young women will compete for the Miss Vhembe 2013 crown at the Thohoyandou Town Hall tomorrow (Thursday).

The organiser of the pageant, Tovhowani Neluvhalani, a former Miss Black Leopards FC says with this pageant, she wants to instill confidence in young people from previously disadvantaged areas of Limpopo.

She says she wants to unleash their potential to be who and what they want to be.

According to Neluvhalani, she wants to identify ambassadors for social responsibility programmes, to showcase and promote charity in the community, cultural excellence, awareness, education and unity. “We need to promote and encourage youth enhancement by contributing socially, economically and culturally to community and environmental sustainability. We need natural beauty, not girls with plastic surgery.

The entrants were initially 22 and are now 10 after a selection process that was held at Khoroni Casino Hotel recently,” she says.

Last year’s winner was Lufuno Nemathithi from Shayandima.

“We expect the winner to work with young people, promoting youth activities and to be a role model in society,” says Neluvhalani.

“We thank Swangis Do Light Transport, Baloyi Attorneys, Venda Love, Una’s Bridal House, Konanani Bricks, SAB, Pen IT Solutions, P Designs, MF Lounge, Golden Velvet, Zukwa, Sun Goddess and Vele Villa Lodge for making everything possible.”

Tickets to the pageant cost R50, R150 for VIP and R250 for VVIP, which includes a meal and drinks.
